Battleheart Legacy+ is worth playing if you're an Apple Arcade subscriber who likes RPGs - and this is a meaty one at more than 50 hours - but don't expect it to blow you away, or experience anything fresh for the genre. Still, personally, I had about the same amount of fun with both these games but in the end Battleheart still left a sweeter taste. whereas Bastion integrates it seamlessly throughout and has an incredible atmosphere to enhance it. At first it seems too easy, but it will get progressively more challenging over time, so if your health is depleted, you may need to drink a potion or run away until you heal, or find other ways to get through that section. Battleheart Legacy honestly feels like the story was just slapped on as an after thought. But overall, the combat isn't as rewarding. A Diablo comparison is fair, since it's a real time affair and you can use weapons (even two-handed ones), magic blasts, songs that lull them to sleep, and special attacks to destroy enemies (that take time to replenish). It's also neat to meet so many different NPCs and select from dialog trees to infuse your own personality into your male or female protagonist, or to get what you want from that character: training, weapons, items, and so on (there are more than 200 pieces of equipment in the game).īut combat is a mixed bag.
The map is open and huge, so you can select which area to visit and fight, as long as you're strong enough (it will tell you the minimum level required).
